Councillors in Cambridgeshire are today voting on controversial plans to build up to 9,000 homes near Waterbeach.
Campaigners argue the development around the former army barracks site would destroy the countryside and put a strain on local services, as well as roads such as the A10.
South Cambridgeshire District Council says it would provide much needed housing and is part of a larger local plan designed to meet growing demand in the area.
