A cannabis farm, believed to be one of the largest found so far in Essex this year, has been shut down following a police operation.
Officers executed a search warrant at a farm on King Street in Ongar on Friday 14 March. They found approximately 800 cannabis plants and a further 10kg of cannabis.
Six men were arrested at the scene and have since been charged with one count each of being concerned in the production of a Class B drug.
Six men are currently being detained in police custody prior to their appearances at Chelmsford Magistrates Court on Monday 17 March.
Neighbourhood Policing Insp Andy Fusher said: "The closure of this farm and the arrests has undoubtedly put a massive dent in the local cannabis supply market and will help in some way to enhancing the quality of life for hundreds of people.”
