Tiny tawny owl 'Lucky' to be alive after 300 mile train ride

A tawny owl has survived a 325 mile trip from Scotland to Crick in Northamptonshire, clinging on to the front of a train.

The owl that survived for 300 miles clinging on to the front of a train

It's a long way from Scotland to Northamptonshire, so imagine doing the journey clinging to the front of a train.

That's what happened to a young tawny owl...which hung on for more than 300 miles as the train sped towards a depot at Crick. Nicknamed Lucky, the owl survived and is now recovering from his ordeal.
