A 25-year-old man must spend at least 23 years behind bars after murdering his former partner at her home in Colchester.
Mark Czapla stabbed 23-year-old Kirsty Humphrey six times in a jealous rage in her lounge in Queen Elizabeth Way.
Czapla did not give evidence but a jury at Chelmsford Crown Court found him guilty.
The judge said he had shown his victim no mercy.
