What's the best setting for an on shore wind farm?

The stormy debate over windfarms shows no sign of calming down - different decisions have just been made on plans for two highly controversial projects on sensitive sites in Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire.

The go ahead has been given to a 100 meter high turbine at the RSPB headquarters near Sandy - but a separate project to build a wind farm next to an historic site at Lyvden New Bield in Northamptonshire has been abandoned after months of campaigning.

And the political debate is also fierce, with one Tory MP telling ITV News Anglia this afternoon that onshore wind farms have lost their case.
