Lorry driver could face prosecution for careless driving after a road in Essex was left covered in straw bales

A driver could face prosecution following an incident in Maldon Road, Burnham, where a lorry shed its load of straw bales.The road was blocked on Monday, April 14 whilst police, specialist recovery teams and local farmers cleared the carriageway.

The lorry left the road and went into a ditch just before 2.40pm.

Essex Police are investigating the incident. A 41-year-old man from Newry in County Antrim has been reported for careless driving.
