An armed forces charity has stepped in to offer a couple from Essex whose son was killed in Afghanistan a gift of a garden makeover.
Corporal Lloyd Newell died in 2011.
His grief-stricken parents Brian and Lynne Ollett had let their garden in Witham become overgrown until now.
Thanks to the charity Forces Support which provides practical help for bereaved military families, they now have a memorial garden complete with their son's ammunition box.
"It is a memorial garden. We can just sit and think of Lloyd whereas because he's buried in Hereford it's such a long trip.... Seeing the old ammo box there, it's just Lloyd. You can look up there and I just picture Lloyd. It's absolutely amazing."
