The thousands of people who visited Lowestoft in Suffolk this weekend would have struggled to get to the beach, even if the weather had been perfect.
Since late last year the section of beach between the harbour south pier and Parade Road South has been closed because of coastal erosion. The council now has to decide if it will pay millions to have it made safe.
