Joe Dunne: Colchester's battle for League One survival will go to last weekend of season

Colchester United manager Joe Dunne believes their battle for League One survival will go to the last weekend of the season - but hopes they can secure their safety by beating promoted Brentford on Saturday.

The U's are just a point above the relegation zone in 18th place after drawing 0-0 at fellow strugglers Crewe on Bank Holiday Monday.

A lack of goals has contributed to their struggles this season, but the U's have had their fair share of bad luck too.

"We were looking at some stuff and we believe we've hot the woodwork I think sixteen times this season," revealed Dunne while looking ahead to Saturday's game.

"It's incredible, but you only get goals when they go in the net. The good thing is we are creating chances. That's been important.

"I think overall this season I've been pleased with the amount of chances we've created. However, we do need to take a few."
