New GP service praised

Dr Daniel Ubani

An out of hours GP service in Cambridgeshire brought in after the accidental death of a patient at the hands of a German Locum Doctor, has been given praise from a health monitoring watchdog.

Dr Daniel Ubani from Germany gave a fatal overdose of a painkiller to his patient 70 year old David Gray from Manea in 2008, on his first locum shift in Cambridgeshire. The Care Quality Commission found Urgent Care Cambridgeshire, to be well led with a robust system for managing risk.
