Police in Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire are planning to work together to cut costs.
The three forces are working on plans to share some behind the scenes work such as legal services and training.
It could mean the three control rooms working together too.
The three chief constables have signed up to the agreement, which they say will protect frontline policing.
