Anglia enjoys its hottest day of the year so far

It's official: temperatures at 1pm this afternoon have reached 21.1°C at Holbeach in Lincolnshire making it the hottest day of the year so far in the Anglia region. The previous record was held at Little Paxton on the 21st April with a high temperature of 21.0°C.

The mercury is still rising with temperatures expected to increase further during the rest of the afternoon. This weekend could be even warmer with temperatures peaking at 22 or 23°C on Saturday and Sunday.
