Norfolk Fire Service has released more details about the fierce blaze that tore through historic buildings in the heart of Fakenham yesterday. Crews from Fakenham, Wells, Kings Lynn, Dereham, Reepham, Sandringham, Sheringham, Aylsham, West Walton, Hunstanton and Sprowston were in action.
Water carriers from Hethersett and Fakenham were used, together with aerial ladder platforms from Kings Lynn and Earlham.The welfare unit from Attleborough and the control unit from Wymondham were also on site.
Relief crews from Swaffham, Holt, Hingham, Mundesley, Harleston, Gorleston, Acle, Watton, Methwold, Cromer, Heacham, and Stalham also attended and fire fighters remain at the scene today.
A store destroyed in a blaze over the weekend continued to smoulder today as fire fighters said the building was unlikely to be saved.
