Five men have been jailed over an attempted burglary in Paulerspury in Northamptonshire which saw one of them detained by have-a-go-heroes.
Police were called to a burglary in Grays Lane on 12 March after a member of the public heard a window being smashed in a nearby property.
Marius Oprea, 24, Visan Vasile, 41, Deofil Minea, 23, Gheorghe Cozma, 24 and Sorin Turcan, 42, were spotted by neighbours and fled. Residents gave chase. One of the raiders was caught and held until police arrived.
A large-scale search of the area then took place involving police officers, helicopter and dog section, resulting the arrest of the other four men.
They were all charged with attempted burglary following the incident on 12 March.
All five admitted the offences. Oprea was sentenced to 10 months, Minea and Cozma 11 months and Turcan and Visan 13 months.
