Driver in hospital after acid attack

A man from Rayleigh in Essex is in hospital after acid was thrown in his face following a row with another motorist.

Essex Police said he had originally been involved in a "short verbal exchange" with another driver at at the Rayleigh Weir roundabout on 3rd June.

The same people had a "further argument" approximately 15 minutes later on Kingsmere in Thundersley during which the acid was thrown in his face.

A 30-year-old woman and a 28-year-old have been arrested on suspicion of assault . They are on police bail pending further inquiries.
