New MK Dons striker Will Grigg says he turned down other offers in favour of sealing a move to stadium:mk.
The Northern Ireland international joined Karl Robinson's side on a season-long loan deal from Brentford last week.
Grigg in the goals
- Grigg scored four goals for Brentford last season as they gained promotion to The Championship.
- He hit 20 goals for Walsall in 2012/13, which prompted Brentford to pay over £300,000 to land the striker.
Several other clubs were interested in landing the 23-year-old, but Grigg told the MK Dons official website that he had his heart set on a move to Buckinghamshire.
“When I was away before pre-season I heard there was a bit of interest and when it came about it was something I was really keen to do. As soon as the ball got rolling both parties were confident they could make it work and it’s just nice to be here now.
There we a few choices but the style of football here suits me, it’s a similar formation to Brentford and Walsall so it’s a good fit for me personally. I know the Gaffer’s wanted me for quite a while so it was really a no-brainer. There was other clubs but this is the perfect fit."
Meanwhile, The Daily Express claims that two of the Dons' brightest young talents could be heading for big-money Premier League moves.
The paper says that defender Brendan Galloway is destined to join Everton, while Liverpool are interested in midfielder Dele Alli.
