Attempted bank robbery: 48-year-old man arrested

A 48-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an attempted robbery at a bank in Holt, Norfolk.

The man was arrested by officers at shortly after 5pm today after handing himself in at a Norwich police station.

The man, who comes from the North Norfolk area, remains in custody awaiting police interview.

The arrest follows an incident which took place at the TSB bank in High Street, Holt shortly after 3pm yesterday.

An unknown man entered the bank, with what appeared to be a firearm, threatened a member of staff and demanded cash. The cashier refused and the man left the store empty handed.

Norfolk Police wish to thank members of the public for their response to their appeal for information.
