ITV have confirmed that a second series of 'Granchester' has been commissioned.

The drama is based on a group of villagers in Cambridgeshire, with much of the series being filmed in the real hamlet of Grantchester.

The first series averaged 6.6million viewers, and the new episodes will be filmed next year.

It will be produced by Lovely Day.

“We received a tremendous audience reaction to Grantchester.

It was so well received so it was an easy decision to commission a new series. We’re looking forward to working with Diederick Santer (Lovely Day’s Managing Director) and reading Daisy Coulam’s (writer) beautifully written scripts.”
