New Formula One world champion Nico Rosberg has sensationally quit the sport with immediate effect.
The German driver, who races for Brackley-based Mercedes, has decided to call time on his career after achieving his dream of winning the world championship on Sunday.
Many people had been looking forward to seeing Rosberg renew his rivalry with Stevenage's Lewis Hamilton next season, but that now won't be the case.
Since 25 years in racing, it has been my dream, my ‘one thing’ to become Formula One World Champion.

My strongest emotion right now is deep gratitude to everybody who supported me to make that dream happen.
