Northamptonshire-based Formula One team Mercedes has appointed James Allison as its new Technical Director.
The 48-year-old was part of title-winning teams Ferrari and Renault in the past, and will start work on March 1.
Allison will help fill the void left by Paddy Lowe who was placed on gardening leave in January ahead of a proposed move to Williams.

It's a massive privilege to be given the trust of a position in a team that has done so spectacularly well in the past three seasons. I am really looking forward to playing my part in helping Mercedes go from strength to strength in the coming years.
