Colchester United duo Frankie Kent and Denny Johnstone have both been ruled out for the rest of the season.

Centre back Kent has ruptured ligaments in his ankle, while forward Johnstone has suffered a tear in his knee cartilage.

However there is better news concerning defender Tom Eastman who could be back in action before the end of the campaign.

Tom is having a series of Prolotherapy injections to heal the rupture in his ankle ligaments.

He had one earlier this week and will have another one or two depending on how the specialist thinks it's going.

An operation was an option for Tom and that would have meant him joining Frankie and Denny in being out all season.

This course of action has a shorter recovery time and gives us the chance to get Tom back for the last few weeks of the season.
