Man detained under Mental Health Act after BB gun fired at public in Stowmarket

A man's been detained under the Mental Health Act after firing a BB gun at members of the public in Stowmarket last night.

Officers were called at around 6.50pm, yesterday Friday 10 March to reports of a window being damaged at a property on Union Street West.

Moments later police were called to an incident on Navigation Approach in which a member of the public reported that a man had fired a weapon at their car.

Police were then called to Gun Cotton Way, after reports that a man driving a van had discharged a weapon at another vehicle

No one was injured and police have recovered a BB gun, which is believed to have been used in all of the incidents.

The 33-year-old, from Stowmarket, was arrested on suspicion of discharging a firearm in a public place, criminal damage and driving a vehicle whilst disqualified. He's since been bailed.
