Foundations installed on £1.5 billion wind farm

The first of the foundations were installed 30 kilometers off the Suffolk coast

The foundations for more than 50 new wind turbines have been finished on a new £1.5b wind farm being built off the Suffolk coast.

The Galloper development is expected to be finished by 2018. It will be able to produce energy for more than 300 thousand homes.

The first of the foundations, which are made up of a steel monopiles and transition pieces, were installed 30 kilometers off the Suffolk coast in late December, with the final foundation completed on Tuesday (28 March).
