£20 million in public investment has been agreed to restart the development of the 'Winerack' building on Ipswich waterfront.

The Homes and Communities Agency is set to invest £15 million in the long-delayed town centre project, along with £5 million from New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership.

Construction is expected to commence later this year. The area has been in a semi-finished condition since the financial crash of 2008.

The completed project will create 149 residential units and 5,000 square feet of commercial space. It will support 56 new jobs.
