Woman injured in Hitchin dog attack

Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was injured in a dog attack in Hitchin.

The dog attacked another another dog and the animal's owner at Oughtonhead Common on 15 May.

She was taken to hospital after she suffered injuries to her wrist and thigh.

The dog was seized under the Dangerous Dogs Act. It is being kept in kennels.

“The dog that was attacked suffered severe neck injuries, which required surgery, and its owner suffered deep wounds to her wrist and her right thigh that required hospital treatment."
