Two men in their 60s die in Suffolk house fire

Two men in their 60s have died following a house fire in Suffolk.

The fire broke out in the early hours of this morning (26 June) in Stanley Street in Lowestoft.

Five fire engines were called to the scene around 1.15am and two men, one aged 60 and the other 62 were rescued from the house. Both were taken to the James Paget hospital but died a short time later.

Formal identification will take place in due course.

A police and fire investigation into the cause of the blaze is underway and a cordon is currently in place at the scene.

The fire is believed to have started in the kitchen and is not thought to be suspicious.
