Plea for people to stop giving cash to beggars

People in Ipswich are being urged to give to homeless charities rather than beggars in the street.

People in Ipswich are being urged to stop giving money to beggars.

Instead, they're being asked to support homeless charities in the town in the hope of helping those rough sleeping on the streets find accommodation.

Ipswich's Help Our Homeless project was launched at the Sailmakers Shopping Centre. It was attended by charity representatives, the police and by former homeless people who have been helped to find accommodation.
