Ipswich Town have confirmed that defender Steven Taylor won't be offered a new contract at Portman Road.
The former Newcastle United centre-back joined on a short-term deal in January and was given the chance to extend his stay.
However, Town have decided against the move because they feel they've got another cover at the back.
We have brought in Jordan Spence and Dominic Iorfa in recent weeks to add to what we already have at the back.
Both Jordan and Dominic are very versatile players that can cover full-back and centre-back positions and we have good competition for places at the back now so we won’t be doing anything with Tayls.
He’s a great pro and he will do a good job for someone. We wish him well.
Meanwhile, Colchester United have re-signed defender Cole Kpekawa from Barnsley.
The 21-year-old enjoyed a loan spell with the U's in 2014, and has now agreed a permanent contract.

Norwich City have had a bid accepted by Newcastle United for centre-back Grant Hanley.
Luton Town have sold striker Isaac Vassell to Birmingham City for an undisclosed fee.
