Peterborough United have sold striker Tom Nichols to League One rivals Bristol Rovers for an undisclosed fee.

The 23-year-old joined Posh in January 2016 from Exeter City and scored 14 goals in 58 appearances during his time at the club.

Nichols will be reuinted with his old teammates when Posh travel to Bristol for their opening away game of the season on August 12.

I’m delighted to be here and to sign for the club.

I knew about the interest a few weeks ago and just wanted to get the deal signed and over the line as soon as possible.

I know what the club is about and as soon as I heard that Rovers were interested, I knew it was a club that I would love to join.
