Police in Scotland say they are growing increasingly concerned for a man from Essex who has not seen since a night out with friends in Edinburgh.

Adam Smith, 37, travelled from his home in Witham for a visit to the Scottish capital.

He was last seen at The Three Sisters pub in the Cowgate area at about 12.45am on Saturday, July 22, and did not return to his accommodation in Gilmore Place.

Police said his disappearance was out of character and appealed for information.

Mr Smith is white, about 6ft 3ins and with short blonde hair that is normally slicked back. He was last seen wearing a long-sleeved burgundy shirt and light blue jeans.
