A man charged with murdering an elderly dog walker has been remanded in custody ahead of a trial next year.
23 year old Alexander Palmer from Cringleford appeared at Norwich Crown Court by video-link from Norwich Prison. He appeared sitting beside a prison officer, wearing a yellow and green tracksuit.
Peter Wrighton, who was 83 and from Banham, was repeatedly stabbed in the neck and head.
Palmer, who spoke only to confirm his details was remanded in custody ahead of a provisional trial in February 2018.
More than a dozen members of the public attended the hearing, which was moved to a larger courtroom to accommodate them.
