Murder investigation launched after pensioner 'strangled' in her Essex home

A woman’s been arrested after the death of a pensioner at her Essex home.

Police were called to Milton Road in Stanford-Le-Hope after midnight on Sunday, 20 August with reports a woman in her 70s had died.

A post-mortem found she had been strangled.

A murder investigation has been launched and a 51-year-old woman arrested.

Police say they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the death.
