A pensioner found strangled at a property in Essex has been named as Margaret Sims.
The 70-year-old died at Milton Road in Stanford-le-Hope just after midnight on Sunday, August 20.
A post-mortem examination gave a preliminary cause of death to be compression of the neck.
Police said her family were "very shock and are trying to come to terms with what has happened".
Keeley Barnard, 51, of Hopkins Mead in Chelmsford, has been charged with murder and was due to appear in court today, August 23.
