Pilot and passenger killed in Norfolk light aircraft crash

A pilot in his 50s and a female passenger in her 70s have died after a light aircraft crash on marshland near Wolferton in Norfolk.

Sandringham plane crash pilot and passenger are named

The pilot and passenger killed in a plane crash on the Sandringham Estate has been named.

Nigel Dodds, 58, from Gateshead, was flying a Piper PA28 light aircraft when it came down on marshland near Wolferton in West Norfolk on Monday, September 11.

Val Barnes, who was in her 70s and a passenger in the plane, was also killed.

A team of inspectors from the Air Accidents Investigation Branch have been investigating at the scene and the wreckage was due to be removed yesterday for further tests to take place.
