A conference is taking place in Norwich to discuss ways to stop scam artists.

Experts from all over the country will be at the third annual Safeguarding Adults event, which aims to prevent vulnerable people falling victim to fraudsters.

Margaret Dewsbury, Chairman of Norfolk County Council’s Communities Committee, said: “Over the past three years in Norfolk we have received nearly 2500 scam cases or complaints.

“Nationally the cost of scamming to UK consumers is estimated to be between £5bn and £10bn a year so with this in mind we have organised the conference to hear from national scam experts and share best practice."
