Police are patrolling a park in Stansted after a young boy was seriously hurt by broken glass

Police are patrolling a recreation ground at Stansted in Essex after a six year old boy suffered a serious hand injury caused by glass that had been left on a slide.

He had to have an operation after suffering a deep cut to his hand and is now recovering at home Investigating officer Dc Greg Najdan said

This is a serious incident where a child sustained almost life-changing injuries.
Luckily he is now recovering but we’d like to advise all parents to check playground equipment before letting their children play on it. We have allocated patrols to the park to avoid this type of incident happening in the future.
