The winds will continue to strengthen and from 9pm today through to 9am on Thursday morning a Met Office warning for strong winds is in force.
Winds could gust up from 40-60mph. In addition heavy rain has the potential to bring disruption to transport, tree damage and temporary power cuts.
It will be dry this evening with some late sunny intervals. Mainly dry and often sunny with light winds on Thursday.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for the risk of thunderstorms in the Anglia region on Friday.
The Anglia region has been the hottest part of the UK on Sunday as the heatwave conditions flared up again over the weekend.
