The Orwell Bridge in Suffolk is likely to close tonight as strong winds prepare to batter the region.
Highways England says, based on current predictions, the crossing will shut from 10pm tonight (Wednesday) until 8am tomorrow (Thursday).
A diversion will take traffic via the A1156, A1189 and A1214 through Ipswich.
A spokesman said: "Drivers should be aware of sudden gusts of wind, and give high-sided vehicles, caravans, motorbikes and bicycles plenty of space."
Low cloud, mist, and the odd fog patch, will lift and clear this morning with some bright or sunny spells developing.
After what has been a rather grey start, outbreaks of rain will continue through today.
Some clear spells will remain tonight, but the cloud will increase from the north and west by dawn
