All petrol and diesel cars could be banned from Cambridge city centre within a few years say Cambridge City Council.

The City Council says it's looking at ways to combat congestion and air pollution and a ban on non-electric vehicles is one of its options.

People in the city are being promised they will be consulted before any decision is made.

"We can move towards an environment where we've only got clean vehicles coming through and we could for instance through the central barriers in Cambridge just say electric only in the future for taxis and delivery vans."
