Government reshuffle: Yarmouth MP promoted to Conservative Party Chairman

Great Yarmouth MP Brandon Lewis has been promoted as part of the Prime Minister’s cabinet reshuffle.

He has been named Minister without Portfolio and also becomes the Conservative Party Chair following three-and-a-half years in lower-ranking ministerial jobs, most recently as an immigration minister.

Braintree MP James Cleverly has also been appointed as Deputy Chair and Saffron Walden MP Kemi Baddoch given Conservative Party Vice Chair, with responsibility for candidates.
