Police in Cambridge have released CCTV pictures of men they want to talk to after an unprovoked attack on a teenage student.
It happened near student accommodation in Brookgate when one of a group of men approached an 18-year-old and offered to sell him drugs.
He refused and the man took his phone, saying he would put his number in it, but then walked off.
The victim tried to get the phone back but was punched and kicked several times by the man and others in the group.
The victim lost consciousness momentarily but then ran away and flagged down a taxi driver who alerted police and took him to hospital where he was treated for serious injuries.
Police say it was an unprovoked and terrifying attack and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
