Campaign launched to reopen Beattock station.

Beattock station was closed 40 years ago as part of the electrification of the West Coast Main Line. Now a steering group's been formed to try to tap into 30 million pounds of Scottish Government funding to get the scheme.

It will certainly benefit tourism and travel and commuting in this particular region to have a station here at Beattock which is historically why Beattock exists. It exists for its station.
