Borders Festival of the Horse
The 11th Borders Festival of the Horse starts today. 30 events will run over 10 days, from jousting to jumping, incorporating working horses, equitation science and horse whispering, and introducing clever donkeys and equestrian art. The festival began in 2001 following the foot and mouth epidemic to emphasise the horse as a driving force in Borders economy. Last year around 10,000 people attended the Festival.**
