Jubilee clean up in Dumfries

People in Dumfries have been part of a huge clean up operation ahead of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations. Volunteers joined local school children to clean up parks to get the town fit for a Queen. Matthew Taylor went along to lend a hand he spoke to Ruth Jardine from the People's project who organised the litter pick.

Also in preparation for the Jubilee weekend Lord Lieutenant's have been visiting schools across the Scottish Borders to tell pupils more about the monarchy and the reign of Queen Elizabeth IIToday, Lord Lieutenant of Tweeddale, Captain David Younger was at St Ronan's Primary in Innerleithen.Each pupil has been given a special jubilee mug.

After helping with the litter pick, Matthew took to the streets of Dumfries and asked people if they were excited about the Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
