A time capsule has been buried at the site of the new Northside bridge in Workington. Pupils from Northside Primary School put the capsule together. It includes items from the past and the present.
Some of the school children told ITV Border what was in the time capsule and the manager of the site where the capsule is buried explained how good it was to be involved with the community.
Councillor Alan Barry was there as the capsule was buried and he told ITV Border he was proud to be a part of history in the making.
The new Northside Bridge is a three span bridge made from sandstone recovered from the original Northside Bridge that was destroyed in the 2009 floods.
Building of the new bridge was made possible thanks to a grant of £11.7million funding from the Department of Transport.
