Man dies in Cumbrian river

A man has died in the River Lune at Kirkby Lonsdale in south Cumbria.

The 22 year old from Manchester was reported missing at 5pm Saturday 21st July. Witnesses say he jumped from a bridge into the river and didn't resurface.

A huge search operation was launched involving divers, police and fire officers and the local mountain rescue team.

His body was found several hours later down river and has been identified by his family.
