Biker from Millom killed in crash

A biker from Millom who was killed in a road crash have described him as "the life and soul of a party", who loved rock music and motorbikes.

Stephen Sharp, 52, was riding along the A595 in west Cumbria when he was involved in a crash with a black Vauxhall Astra car. He died of his injuries at the scene.

His family have released a statement paying tribute to him.

“It is with great sadness that Stephen has been so tragically taken from us. He will be deeply missed by his family, especially his daughter and his friends from around the country.

"Best known for his love of motorbikes and rock music, whose characteristics made him the life and soul of the party, Stephen will undoubtedly be missed by all who knew him.”

The car driver, a man aged 56, was also seriously injured and was taken to the West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven.

Cumbria Police have appealed for any witnesses to the collision, which happened at Blackbeck Inn near Egremont on Tuesday evening.
