Driver seriously injured after crash near Dumfries

A man has been seriously injured after his van crashed on the outskirts of Dumfries.

It's believed that the van skidded and rolled over before hitting some trees. The incident happened just before 4 o'clock on Saturday afternoon on a roundabout near the Garroch Business Park on the road that links the A75 with the A711 on the western edge of the town.

Police are asking for anyone who might have seen anything to come forward.

“Officers are investigating a serious road traffic Crash at Garroch Loaning, Dumfries involving a small white Citroen car derived van. Police are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen this vehicle in the vicinity of this area prior to the road traffic collision occurring to contact them on 0845 600 5701.”

The driver who is thought to be local was taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary with serious injuries.
