There's an appeal for more First Responders in the Scottish Borders. The Peebles, Innerleithen and Walkerburn group, which formed at the beginning of December is looking for more members.
First Responders deal with emergencies in their local area until the ambulance arrives. They are sent by ambulance centres in response to 999 calls. First responders can deal with anything from an asthma attack to a heart attack.

There are dozens of First Responders across Cumbria and southern Scotland.
