An investigation into suspected whistle blowing at Cumbria Constabulary is ongoing, police said.
The inquiry was launched over concerns that information relating to Cumbria's Police and Crime Commissioner had been leaked to media. Four people were arrested last month in connection with the investigation, two of which have had their bail dates extended.
A 50-year-old woman, who is a Cumbria Police employee, was detained on suspicion of data protection offences and misconduct in a public office. A 54-year-old man from Penrith was also arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice. Both have had their bail dates extended to July 5th.
It has been confirmed that two other police employees who were arrested will face no criminal action and are no longer suspended from the force.
Police said the investigation continues to be conducted by the Professional Standards Department and that a file will be prepared and submitted to the Crown Prosecution Service.
